Developer One Software started up in 1996 just as Microsoft was preparing to launch the Windows CE powered Handheld PC. Seeing the potential of handheld devices running a slimmed-down version of Microsoft Windows was very exciting. Our first product for the Handheld-PC "ClassPro" was aimed at students looking to have a great way to organize their schedules, and assignments. Soon after followed several utility type solutions like AutoGraph to fill the need of graphing data from Pocket Excel spreadsheets, CodeWallet Pro, a database backup tool, and several freeware utilities...Several years later, Microsoft introduced the "Palm-size PC", the first smaller form factor PDAs running Windows CE (Typically featuring grayscale displays, little memory in comparison to today, and soon to be re-named to Pocket PC.) Seeing the benefits to users of having a lot of power in such a compact device along with the capabilities of Windows CE, Developer One targeted the Palm-size PC with solutions like CodeWallet Pro, utility solutions, and our efforts focused heavily on developing customized solutions for companies trying out this new solution as well as embedded devices running Windows CE.New devices like the Casio E-100, HP Jornada, and Compaq iPaq were all the rage, and Developer One was there with a suite of new applications for these compelling new devices, all featuring color screens, more memory and a much improved operating system. While we don't focus on it now as much as we did then, Developer One was the first software developer to have commercially available solutions for the Pocket PCs 'Today Page'. Developer One added great features like a tasks list, calendar, task switcher and more to the Today Page on the new Pocket PC, adding a lot of functionality in a small space on the Pocket PC.
