AIT Upgrades Spam Protection w/ Free Service
 New and improvedÂ' usually means more expensive, too. But AIT (http://ait.com) hasturned the axiom on its head with a beefed up anti-spam service that is available atno cost. The upgrade entails software that sits between a userÂ's e-mail client andthe Internet, poring through incoming messages and filtering based on rules definedby third-party companies who monitor known proxy servers, RBL lists, and other spamsenders.  This is effective mail management for small businesses who donÂ't have thetime or budget to institute intensive self-management systems, said ClarenceBriggs, AITÂ's Chief Executive Officer.
The only fee is a one-time charge for pointing a userÂ's MX record.  The realbenefit is there is no learning curve for the user; this tool is pre-configured, said Briggs. That means no long hours spent on building black and white lists,drafting rule sets, and other tasks that mean time away from business. E-mail isread as normal, but without the junk; spam is automatically siphoned out of theflow. The service also means filtering without  false positiveÂ', where importantmessages are treated as spam.  In addition, this tool looks at phishing sites andpossible issues with HTML newsletters, like viruses and bad links, said Briggs.
