EPIC is a new standard single board computer (SBC) with a defined 4.53" x 6.50"(115mm x 165mm) form factor, which has 29.4 square inches in total real estate andsuits a broad range of applications for which EBX is too large a solution andPC/104-Plus would require multiple boards. The standard allows PC-style connectorsfor I/OÂ's instead of the pin-headers common on PC/104 designs, and it also tends toincrease reliability, particularly in environments that are prone to extreme shockand vibration.
The ideal cost effective compact size single board computer easily works withregular laptop Intel Pentium M and Celeron M CPUÂ's. This helps to lower thetotal cost of ownership (TCO) when compared to other small form factor SBCÂ's withonboard low power CPU supported only, and furthermore, the EP810 offers a CPU optionwith an ultra low voltage onboard 1GHz Intel Celeron M processor.
