Tokyo, Japan May 6th 2009: One teenager's dream to change the world could be about to come true, as the iPhone game that he and four friends developed hits the shelves today. In 2008, 18 year old Alvin Kusuma realized that combining his good education and the success of the iTunes Apple Inc. market could spell huge profits. Instead of using the money for personal use, the TouchTen team have decided to give all sales proceeds up to $10,000 to charity and are aiming to hit this goal by the end of 2009.
Kusuma's game, named iPong! is a unique example of one of the 25,000 iPhone apps in the iTunes store today. iPong! is not the only game with a similar name in the store and its official name is 'iPong! Game'. The iPhone app makes good use of the handset's unique accelerator technology to move the on-screen 'bat' in order to stop the ball from falling. Fans can purchase the game as of today, from the iTunes store for less than one dollar ($0.99).
'TouchTen' was formed in March 2009 by young CEO Alvin Kusuma, who was studying at one of Japan's most famous private institutions; Waseda University. Being an Indonesian native, Alvin recognised how lucky he was to go through tertiary education abroad; something that was unusual for other Indonesian teenagers. His dream was to make a difference to the world, using the power of his education and unsure of how to go about this without money, he enlisted the help of four friends. Whilst brainstorming, one friend couldn't leave his new iPhone handset alone and the friends subsequently recognized the success of this market.
18 year old entrepreneur Alvin Kusuma and his team at TouchTen have developed the iPong! Game; a unique iPhone game, which, when tested by over 40 members of the public, was deemed extremely addictive. The teenage team have collectively pledged to give $10,000 to charity and since Apple Inc. take 30% of each sale, TouchTen is hoping to gain around 14,285 downloads by the end of 2009 if they are to hit their target.
