Athena Security today announced the general availability of Athena FirewallGrader 1.0, an easy to use and freely downloadable tool for determining the complexity of a firewall. Ms. Anjali, Product Manager at Athena was quoted as saying The managed services providers in the network security area is our largest potential customer base. These MSPs manage thousands of firewalls for their customers. We wanted to provide them with a tool that will quickly help them in gauging the complexity of firewall configurations for this multitude of firewalls.
FirewallGrader lists twelve key metrics that significantly contribute, to increase a firewall's complexity, show how a firewall's configuration scores against these key metrics, and also provide tips on how to reduce firewall complexity.
FirewallGrader can be downloaded from http://www.athenasecurity.net/firewall-grader.html. Network and Systems engineers can use this tool to compare the complexity of their Firewalls compared to the industry benchmarks.
Last summer Athena Security, Inc had also launched two revolutionary products called Athena FirePAC and Athena Verify. Athena FirePAC provides a comprehensive analysis of firewall configurations that includes extensive checks for security risks, assessment of PCI compliance, policy comparisons and policy queries.
