oween is the time of year were you get to have fun with apumpkin. One of the greatest traditions during the Halloween season is to carve apumpkin into a Jack-O-Lantern. IN the United States the pumpkin was known for theharvest season before it became the focal point to Halloween. The carving of thepumpkin dates back to 1866 when this was a popular thing to do in the British Isles. It eventually made its way to the states and has now become the most popular thingto do on Halloween.When you are going to carve your pumpkin there are some simple techniques that youcan follow that will help you. You want to start by cutting the top off of thepumpkin. Next you want tot take the guts out which is basically all the stuff youcan reach in and get. This needs to come out because you will be carving the faceand you need the inside to be hallow. Next you want to decide how you want to carvethe face because some people will make there pumpkin happy, some will make it sad.When you start to carve you will want to outline the pumpkin first so you have anidea of what the face is going to look like. Also if you are having a hard timedeciding on how to carve your pumpkin then you can purchase a kit that will have thecarving tools and also some stencils that you can use to trace the face.
