October 03, 2008. Mental Works Computing Software announces the release of CD-Door Guard 3.0, a new version of award-winning utility designed to protect computer optical drives from crash.
The program supports any number and any kind of optical drives: CD-ROM/RW, DVD-ROM/RW, HD-DVD, Blu-ray. CD-Door Guard sits in system tray and watches disk ejections. If a drive's tray is opened for too long the program closes it automatically. CD-Door Guard helps you to lock the optical drive's door to prevent your small children from playing with it. After locking the drive your child can press the button at front of it as long as he or she wants. The drive's tray won't open until you unlock it. CD-Door Guard provides special protection for optical drives of laptops. Using this utility you can lock the drive automatically when the laptop goes to sleep mode and unlock it in the same way when the computer wakes up.

What's new in version 3.0:
* Hot keys. CD-Door Guard now lets you choose hot keys to open or close and lock or unlock each optical drive.
* Special protection for laptops. Now CD-Door Guard can lock drives automatically when computer goes to sleep mode, and unlock them when it wakes up.
* Alerts and sounds. When drive is being locked CD-Door Guard beeps or shows a message.
