Amongst the first few companies globally to be appraised for all of its offshoredevelopment centers
Bangalore, January 17th, 2007: Caritor, a global provider of IT Services, hasannounced that all of its offshore development centers have been appraised atMaturity Level 5 of the latest version 1.2 of Capability Maturity Model Integrated(CMMI). With this, Caritor has become one of the very few companies globally toachieve this highest level of CMMI capability. A SEI Authorized High Maturity LeadAppraiser from KPMG conducted this appraisal for Caritor between December 26, 2006and January 10, 2007.
 Caritor's quality focus has been one of its greatest strengths. Caritor'sdocumented Business Management System(BMS) provides a robust platform toquantitatively manage its business operations to help deliver sustained customervalue. Caritor has been able to leverage its Six Sigma program to bring aboutcontinuous process improvements for operational efficiency. The pursuit of such anintegrated approach towards quality has enabled Caritor to transition from Level 5of CMMI v 1.1 to Level 5 of CMMI v 1.2 successfully in such a short time. , said Mr.K.K. Caritor has had an impressive track record for its quality programs right from 1999when it received its first ISO 9001 certification. Within a short span of two tofive years, Caritor achieved various quality milestones including CMM Level 5, ISO9001:2000, PCMM Level 5 and CMMI Level 5 assessments. It is this relentless approachtowards achieving the highest levels in quality standards that Caritor is nowassessed at Level 5 of version 1.2 of the CMMI standard.
 Caritor is amongst the first few companies in the world to get assessed againstthis new standard. Considering that the 1.2 version of CMMI and SCAMPI werereleased as recently as August 2006, this is a proud moment of achievement forCaritor. The much acclaimed CMMi model of the Software Engineering Institute (SEI), CarnegieMellon, measures an organizationÂ's ability to manage and enhance its softwaredelivery processes. The latest versions, CMMI 1.2 and SCAMPI 1.2 (Standard CMMIAppraisal Methodology for Process Improvement) were released in August 2006.
