 Dasher.D worm is a new and highly critical threat thatexploits a serious Windows vulnerability in Distributed Transaction Coordinator(DTC). This vulnerability was patched by Microsoft in October 2005 .  Dasher D backdoor worm particularly targets Windows 2000 systems. It has the potential toinfect a large number of computers in a given network.
Three variants of Dasher namely Dasher.A, Dasher.B, Dasher.C have already beendiscovered. All of them install a software, which tries to infect other vulnerablesystems. Eventually some variants of this worm start to log keystrokes and transformthe computer into a remotely controlled "bot" system.
