Jersey City, NJ (August 15, 2007) - In its drive to make userauthentication both stronger and easier to use for online banking customers, Comodo,a global Certification Authority and leader in Identity and Trust AssuranceManagement solutions, today announced a series of product enhancements to Comodo'sTwoFactor (TF) solution.

The enhancements announced extend Comodo's proven Client certificate-based solutionfor two-factor authentication beyond home computers into the realm of publiccomputers such as those used by online banking customers while traveling. Throughthe introduction of one-time passwords designed for use at public computers, ComodoTF is now as effective as token solutions for user authentication at remotelocations but do not include the high cost or challenging customer deploymenttypically associated with these types of solutions.

These one-time passwords can be delivered through a variety of customer-selectedoptions such as SMS messaging, email or telephone. The key benefit to end users is"anywhere, anytime" access to online banking accounts allowing optimum flexibility.

"Really useful technologies serve their intended purpose without inconveniencingtheir users. Striking the right balance between security and an acceptable userexperience has been a challenge for many financial institutions providingauthentication services - until now," said Igor Seletskiy, Director of Technology atComodo. "Strong authentication from public computers must be easy but cannotsacrifice security. With the new enhancements to Comodo TF, we achieve truetwo-factor authentication anytime, anywhere in a way that is easy and intuitive forall online banking customers."

Comodo's solution surpasses other cookie-based user authentication approachesbecause these approaches do not to create a true two-factor authentication processwhen the user is logging in from a remote computer. Typically, these cookie-basedsolutions must revert to a weaker, multi-layered, one-factor approach to deliveruser authentication at public computers. Comodo has invested in technologies thatenable seamless true two-factor authentication for consumers. Key features of thisnew release include

* Generation and acceptance of one time passwords when the customer is at aremote location * A choice of delivery vehicles of the one-time password that the user selects, including SMS/ phone or email delivery. * Enhanced administrative tools to facilitate easy introduction and maintenanceof these new capabilities
