Comodo Memory Guardian prevents damage from most types of buffer overflow attacks, which is when a malicious program or script deliberately sends more data to itsmemory buffer than the buffer can handle, causing a crash. It is at this point thata successful attack can create a back door to the system though which a hacker cangain access. The goal of most attacks is to install malware onto the compromised PCwhereby the hacker can reformat the hard drive, steal sensitive user information, oreven install programs that transform the machine into a zombie PC.
Comodo Memory Guardian is reliable protection against this form of attack and hasbeen effective at stopping 90%+ of these types of attacks. Comodo Memory Guardian isexpected to be available for general release later this year.
