During their stayin India, Prof. Lang and Prof. Wagemann visited Neville Wadia Institute ofManagement Studies & Research (NWIMSR), Symbiosis Institute of Business Management(SIBM), Symbiosis Center for Human Resource Development (SCMHRD), SymbiosisInstitute of Management Studies (SIMS), Symbiosis Institute of Computer Studies &Research (SICSR) and Indian Institute of Modern Management (IIMM) to meet with theirdirectors and explore possibilities of similar internship programs for studentscoming from Germany. Prof. Lang said, Pune has always been popular amongst the students in Germany dueto the well-known academic and research institutions and also for its ITinfrastructure and growth in the city. We were looking for Indian partner institutesthat could give our students cross-cultural learning and strategic IT and businessmanagement skills. While interacting with the directors of the various institutesand companies that we visited, we felt that our students will certainly benefit fromthe practices that are defined and followed within the institutes and organizationshere. This certainly was a very successful visit and we look forward to visitingIndia more often. Lt Col ( retd) Arnab Banerji who heads the Connect program said, Extentia andFachhochschule have been associated with each other for the last few years throughthe Connect program. Every year we invite students to do an internship with us andencourage them to stay for several months. These students work closely with ourbusiness unit heads and get trained in different competencies. Our Connect programinvites candidates with marketing as well as technical background to work with ourteams. At the end of the internship, the candidates are given an experiencecertificate while they carry along with them hands-on experience of variousenterprise level projects that are executed in Extentia.
