Friday, July 24, 2009 VirtoSoftware, a new developer of web parts for SharePoint, released Workflow for SharePoint that allows sending direct messages to Twitter.
Twitter is a free social blogging service rapidly gaining popularity. It allows users to send short text notes (up to 140 characters). These notes can be sent via the web interface, as well as using SMS, instant messaging services or third-party software clients.
Virto SharePoint to Twitter is new service for sending messages to Twitter from SharePoint Sites. This is Worklfow which can be easily created within SharePoint Workflow Designer 2007. You just need to specify your Twitter Login and Password and indicate your message.

1. Install Virto SharePoint Workflow Activities Kit
2. Use your SharePoint Workflow Designer 2007 to create your Workflow
3. Create new Workflow Send Twitter Direct Messages'
4. Specify Twitter Login and Password and Type your Twitter Message
5. Start SharePoint to Twitter Workflow'
6. Once it's done, your message will appear at your Twitter
