Since its launch in summer 2006, the Welsh business directoryDwdws.com has introduced additional search facilities, and plans furtherdevelopments to the service. The free listings initially offered onto the Dwdws.comdirectory will give way to an annual fee as from early next year.
All businesses currently on Dwdws.com will not be charged in the future, neitherwill any businesses that submit for free until early next year, when submissionswill then be charged. Following this, a one-off fee of  45 will be applicable. Thereare 650 businesses currently listed on the directory.
Dylan Thomas, founder of Dwdws.com, told Ping Wales: Â The reason for this change isdue mainly to the fact that if we are to develop Dwdws.com as we envisage, then wemust consider various revenue options. We would also like to encourage anybusinesses to submit now, whilst it is free.
 In parallel to this, we will be providing an additional service, which we aim tocall PopPage. Though the exact details of this service have yet to be finalised, wecan reveal that it will allow business to further promote their businesses online ina more individual and unique way.Â
Thomas adds: Â The submission pages now allow businesses to submit further businessdetails, such as under which category the business belongs to. We also provide thefacility for businesses to specify in which language their website is [presented],as well as in which language the business provides their services. In time this willallow people to search for a Wales-based business according to their languagepreferences.Â
All submissions onto Dwdws.com are now translated automatically by Dwdws, in-house.However, businesses will still be able to submit bilingually themselves.
Dwdws.com plans to provide additional offers to encourage business to considergetting a website for their businesses. Forthcoming services include hostingservices, offering a Windows and Linux solution for businesses, domain nameregistration, where people will be able to register most TLDs, and search engineoptimisation.
