The Internet havealso become a platform for self expression of their true or make believe persona.It's also the new avenue for meeting people, though it's vulnerability is at highrisk.
In a study done by Douglas Raybeck, Ph.D., a professor of anthropology at HamiltonCollege in New York, he found out that the common denominator or personal adsposters create meta-statements about themselves. These meta-statements are notused to create a make believe persona but as a human nature to highlight out besttraits. Ironically, though technological advancements have opened ease incommunication, it also eased how people realize that they are alone. With morepeople owning mobile phones and having email accounts, it's easier to realize thatno one bothered to drop you a message.
If you try to use a search engine, such as the popular Google, and type in I'm solonely , you'll be surprised to see 8 million search results. Looking closer onthese web results, you can see that most are blog entries, forum or classified adspostings of people who wants to talk to someone on cyberspace.
Millions of personal ads are drifting on various sites, and thousands more areposted each day. They might be misleading, but one thing is for sure, they're neverhopeless.
