Despite being obliged to provide accessible websites, a surveyhas found that some local authority sites still suffer from usability problems.
Research conducted by a panel of disabled users discovered that while some localauthority sites were sufficiently equipped to help blind and partially sighted usersconduct basic jobs, such as find the council's phone number and report an abandonedcar, none were free of problems.
While the panel could do both on seven of the 20 sites investigated, the best siteshad three reported problems, while the worst saw nineteen issues.
