FabulaTech group today hosted a press conference in United Kingdom, Liverpool where they announced that FabulaTech is launching Serial Port Redirector with the free OEM license. Serial Port Redirector creates virtual serial ports and makes serial data from serial ports available on a TCP/IP network.
United Kingdom-Liverpool-To meet the growing needs for solutions which could pass serial data across a local network or the Internet, FabulaTech launches Serial Port Redirector with the SSL encryption support. This software creates virtual serial ports and redirects all serial data to specified TCP-port of
remote IP-address. Any serial communications software can use these virtual COM ports, like typical hardware COM ports to send and receive serial data over a local network or the Internet.
Serial Port Redirector can be used to pass serial data across a local network or over the Internet using the Telnet protocol (with the COM Port Control protocol specified by RFC 2217) and the raw TCP connection protocol as well. The COM Port Control protocol (RFC 2217) is used also for accessing any
serial device attached to a serial device server. With the OEM License one can integrate Serial Port Redirector functionality into one's own application. It permits unlimited redistribution of Serial Port Redirector as an integral part of one's own software without having individual license keys.
"Serial Port Redirector transparently network-enables serial applications. All data written to virtual COM port appears on specified TCP-port of remote IP address.
