Following are step #4 through step #6:
Step #4: Layout their product so they know what is going to be included and what itis going to look like. How can they do this? Try this exercise: Imagine that we resitting in a room and they have an hour to teach me about their subject. But beforethey begin, I ll step out of the room for 20 minutes while they prepare. So writeout the bullet points they want to cover during this preparation time. Then when Icome back in the room they have an hour to present the bullet points.
Tip: Remember, they need to start off by telling them who they are and why someoneshould listen to them.
Step #5: They need to have some kind of software to capture their audio. Thecheapest, fastest, and easiest way is to have Sony Sound Forge Studio (Price:$70-$100). This program works very well and is user friendly. It is as easy to useas Microsoft Word. It let s them edit it easily so if they goof up, they can editout the mistakes.
They can also find free versions of audio software. Go on Google and Google Audacity . This is a free program that is similar to Sony Sound Forge. The onlydifference is that Audacity is in an .aud format which is not .mp3 or .wav format.So you ll have to convert it by exporting it as an mp3 or .wav file.
They also need a microphone. Microphones range in price up to thousands of dollars.They can use a headset microphone for only $30. It is up to them. The importantthing is to have a headset microphone so they can have their hands free. You alsowant a USB connection to their computer. They get a lot better sound if it is aUSB port as opposed to the old fashioned microphone connection.

Step #6: Record their product s audio or video portions. Sometimes their productsare video tapes of their events or giving tours through their office. Or if they aredemonstrating an exercise then a video is necessary.
Do they want to demonstrate things on their computer? Then great software to use isCamtasia Studio which lets them capture what is on their computer and narrate whilethey are doing it. It has great tutorials to help you out.

When recording audio, record chapter by chapter. Don t try to have the entire bookin one audio file.
