Friday, October 16, 2009. Virtosoftware announces a new version of Virto Alerts Customizer for Microsoft SharePoint 2007, an effective solution that enhances and streamlines SharePoint Alert Management System.
Virtosoftware has presented a new version of one of its major web parts for Microsoft SharePoint Virto Alert Customizer 2.0. The new version contains additional features for setting, customizing and managing SharePoint alerts and reminders.
Virto Alert Customizer expands the flexibility of the built-in SharePoint notification system by allowing creating custom alerts within a minute, sending them to a specific user or a group of users by e-mail, SMS and instant messengers, making custom Rich Text Template for different types of alerts and using link templates when designing alert views, setting up sophisticated alert triggers and scheduling delivering schemes.
The new version contains another important set of features that deal with reminding about upcoming or overdue events. Virto Alert Customizer 2.0 provides SharePoint users with instruments that allow them to set up a reminder for any event (i.e. any field from a SharePoint list). One can specify any period or a sequence of periods (e.g. 90 minutes, 60 minutes, 30 minutes, etc) before or after the event when a reminder should be sent to the specified users or user groups.
Virtosoftware continues to elaborate Virto Alerts Customizer. The next version of the web part is already under development, and is to be released in November. One of the main new features of the version is an opportunity to form a batch reminder about all the upcoming events within a specified time period. For example, a daily 9 a.m. reminder about all the events planned for the day can be sent to all your SharePoint users.
