The awards ceremony was hosted by online accommodation experts HotelClub and InsightGuides at Vinopolis during a ceremony opened by Minister for Creative Industries andTourism, Shaun Woodward.

Hotels in Ireland (http://www.hotelclub.net/hote l.reservations/Ireland.htm) tookhome two of the top three gongs with The Gresham in Dublin(http://www.hotelclub.n et/hotel.reservations/Gresham_ Hotel_Dublin.htm) and RadissonSAS Hotel & Spa in Galway (http://www.hotelclub.net/hote l.reservations/Galway.htm)bot h winning awards in the Three best hotels in Great Britain and Ireland category. Ireland also took home two niche category trophies with KellyÂ's Resort Hotel & Spain Rosslare (http://www.hotelclub.net/hote l.reservations/Rosslare.htm) winning BestFamily Hotel and Culloden Estate and Spa in Belfast(http://www.hotelclub. net/hotel.reservations/Cullode n_Estate__Spa_Belfast.htm)tak ing home Best Business Hotel.
EnglandÂ's capital is celebrating too, with hotels in London(http://www.hotelclub.n et/hotel.reservations/London.h tm) making a clean sweep in theBest Hotels in England category. The Dorchester, The Ritz(http://www.hotelclub.net /hotel.reservations/Ritz_Hotel _London.htm) and HiltonLondon Metropole Hotel were all honoured as was ClaridgeÂ's(http://www.hotelc lub.net/hotel.reservations/Cla ridges_Hotel_London.htm) which wonthe coveted award for Best Service.
The HotelClub Hotel Awards are a  peopleÂ's choiceÂ' awards ceremony. Earlier thisyear 10,000* consumer voters nominated more than 22,000 of their favourite discounthotels online at www.hotelclub.net. All winning hotels are also guaranteed a placein the  Great Britain & Ireland's Best HotelsÂ' guidebook, to be published by InsightGuides in early 2008.

Other winners on the night include The Gleneagles Hotel in Auchterarder, which wasawarded the title of Best Country House and Hilton won Best Chain, with the mostnominations for its hotels overall. England took out category of Best Destination,with British Airways being selected as the UK and IrelandÂ's favourite airline.
The HotelClub Hotel Awards for Great Britain & Ireland Best Hotels 2007 waspresented by HotelClub and Insight Guides, in conjunction with brakes & CBS Outdoor.
 Great Britain and IrelandÂ's Best HotelsÂ' is part of HotelClub & Insight Guidesongoing partnership. The first book to be jointly produced was  AsiaÂ's Best Hotels &ResortsÂ' in 2003, with a 2nd edition produced in 2005, followed in 2006 by Australia & New ZealandÂ's Best Hotels & Resorts (including Pacific Islands). Theguide to  Great Britain & IrelandÂ's Best Hotels and Resorts is due for release inearly 2008.
