The IT-Enquirer Awards are handed out to products and services that IT-Enquirervisitors have been voting for from the beginning of July until the end of August.There were ten categories with products to vote for: Scanners, Inkjet photoprinters, Large Format printers, Colour management, Digital asset management,Photography (no cameras), PDF workflow, DTP and Graphic design, Web design, and MacOS X productivity tools. Voting was open to all visitors of the web site.
The IT-Enquirer Golden Cube is awarded to the product that received the largestnumber of votes. A Silver Cube is awarded to the runner-up.
Apple won the first IT-Enquirer Golden Cube in the category Photography for itsprofessional digital photo management application Aperture. Aperture also receivedthe largest number of votes overall, with a whopping 57%.
In the category Desktop Publishing and Graphic Design, Apple surprised by winning aSilver Cube for its word processor with DTP features, Pages. The difference betweenPages and the winner of the Golden Cube, InDesign CS2 was only 8%.
