If one takes a photo of a black cat in a dark room the resultcan be far from ideal. Or if you make a photo of a beautiful view but the automaticsettings focus on the sky and the shot comes out with uneven exposure  the sky isbeautiful but the scenery is underexposed and one can hardly understand what is on.With the standard tools of exposure correction you run the risk of spoiling theparts of the image that were good.
AKVIS Enhancer is image enhancement software that improves detail in underexposed,overexposed and mid tone areas of a photo. The program has an individual approach toevery part of the photo; it intensifies the difference between adjacent pixelshaving different color gradations and treats every part individually. Other similarprograms may achieve acceptable results by manipulating two to four shots of thesame scene; AKVIS Enhancer applies advanced algorithms to a single shot forspectacular outcome.
Most images can be improved at default settings. For further adjustment you havefour parameters at your disposal: Details in Shadows, Details in Highlights, Levelof Detail and Lightness.
The program offers batch mode that allows improving a series of photos automatically. Batch processing is time saving when you have to correct a number of photos takenwith the same camera settings in similar circumstances.
By popular request in version 6.0 the possibility to save user presets has beenadded. Besides, new to version 6.0: compatibility with Photoshop CS3 on Intel Mac,compatibility with Windows Vista, added new interface language - Italian.
The update for registered users is free. The users who tried the previous version ofthe plug-in and have their version expired, now have an opportunity to test thesoftware again.
