One year ago v-band.com started to allow their members to uploadtheir creative work on one server, using the FTP-Protocol. With a high performanceconnection to the World Wide Web, this server was able to distribute the files rightin time.
As the platform increased the number of requested files and with it the requiredbandwidth, it was required to expand the download possibilities with a distributedserver structure using different data centers over the world.
As more users become interested in online music collaboration it was also requiredto expand the upload possibilities and make the whole procedure easier and managed.With this needs it was required to displace the FTP-Upload possibility and create acompletely new application for the uploading procedure.
Now even the upload procedure use a distributed server environment with nearlyunlimited capacity for any kind of creativity. Without using a third party storageservice, such as Amazon S3, it's possible to fully control each step of uploading,distributing and downloading.
Especial for creative work it's required to use this freedom to prevent the usersfrom sharing and working on copyright protected files. With automated and manuallychecks it's possible to remove and destroy such files within minutes.
