The Company
Championship, LLC, which started doing business in 1963 under the name D & RIndustries, Inc., distributes billiard fabrics and supplies to the pool tableindustry. Since 1990 it has manufactured the "Championship Line" of billiard fabricsand has since changed its name to Championship, LLC. Due to the high quality of itsbilliard fabrics and its dedication to customer service, Championship, LLC currentlyenjoys a dominant market share in the United States.
The Challenge
In 2006, the company implemented the Microsoft Dynamics GP back office softwarepackage which included general accounting modules, sales order processing,purchasing, and inventory control. With the new system in place the salesforce including sales management and company management needed an efficient andexpedient way to analyze the sales data. The few sales reports that Dynamics GPincluded were not robust enough for the managementÂ's needs. In addition they wantedto incorporate the sales history from their old legacy system into the sales reportsin order to show sales trends that extended to multiple years.
The Solution
The company decided to use Interactive Reporting (IR) for Dynamics GP to provide theneeded sales analysis functionality. With its user-friendly interface and robustreport-generating engine, IR provided a central point for sales representatives andmanagement to analyze and track their sales performance. And by extending thestandard Dynamics GP Sales Mapping to include the old legacy data, analyzing yearsworth of sales became a matter of a few mouse clicks.
The collection of reports that come out of the box coupled with the ability tomodify the layouts provided immediate and useful results. In addition, theoutstanding speed of the program (when installed on a fast IIS server) generatedreports in seconds. The flexibility of sorting, grouping, and drilling down thedisplayed data allowed the user to review multiple report layouts from the samegenerated report. IR for Dynamics GP provided the depth and breadth of analysis thatstandard sales reports could not.
Interactive Reporting has been the highlight of the new system implementation atChampionship, LLC, and undoubtedly it will be at any company that chooses thisproduct. Company management is highly impressed with the capabilities that camealready built into the program. This implementation has been a great success!
