The "mosaic appeal" is a revamp of the proven fund-raising technique of dividingyour appeal into manageable sums of money. It is rather like selling bricks to builda hospital - except that it is done entirely on the web. It is an effective way foryou to raise additional funds for your charity, organisation, club or society, orpersonal campaign.
Mosaicappeals.com involves no capital expenditure or financial risk and aside fromthe work in setting it up, it doesn't burden you with an enormous workload.
It was just one year ago that Stephen Roose-Jones, the dynamic fund-raiser for StMark's Hospital Foundation asked The Bubblegate Company to come up with afundraising scheme that could involve ordinary people and which would not involvemuch more of the fund-raiser's time.
Bubblegate's idea was for a mosaic appeal which was, in effect, a plan to sell eachof the tiles of a large mosaic of the winged lion which was on an outside wall ofthe hospital in Harrow. A feature of Bubblegate's plan was that instead of sellingthe actual tiles, they would sell a representation of them on the world wide web, somaking it accessible to almost everybody, and giving donors some recognition fortheir contribution by allowing them to leave a message or dedication.
The mosaic appeal was launched on 24 April 2007 at an event where donors bid up the 1,800 for the first tile. After the initial burst, the fund-raising slowed down, but as more people get to hear of the appeal, its popularity is growing. Thismonth's funds raised by the appeal passed the 50,000 mark to which they have addedGift Aid, and donations from their main sponsor Yakult.
Since then, Bubblegate have taken the mosaic appeal concept and built an automatedweb based platform that allows charities and organisations to sign themselves up andcreate their own mosaic appeal within a matter of minutes.
Mosaicappeals.com is the latest and exciting way to raise funds for anyorganisations or charities without any financial risk. We use our automated softwareto create a mosaic from that image and build it into a web page, from which you cansell the tiles. Because the mosaicappeals.com uses the power of the web, you areable to greatly increase the number of your potential donors, and you will be ableto raise funds without taking on an additional administrative burden.
