Massachusetts State Department Chooses Mirage Networks for Agentless NAC Department of Housing and Community Development Looks to Control Unauthorized Devices

ge Networks , Inc., developer of award-winning NetworkAccess Control (NAC) technology, announced today the Department of Housing andCommunity Development of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts (DHCD) has chosen MirageEndpoint Control to protect its network from threats and policy violations which cannegatively impact operational cost and productivity. We needed a NAC solution, but after months of reading and researching I learnedthat most solutions are too difficult to implement, require too many resources andcost more than I could afford, said John Kupchaunis, Director of InformationTechnology for the Massachusetts Department of Housing and Community Development. Then I was introduced to Mirage Networks. After plugging the Mirage NAC device into the network, it immediately foundnumerous policy violations. This included rogue Web servers, unauthorized accesspoints, and unknown devices, continued Kupchaunis.  For the next few weeks, weremedied the policy violations and let the Mirage device learn our network. We thenput the device into compliance mode. Now any time a rogue device is plugged in, theadministrator is immediately notified and the device is segregated to a restrictedWeb server.
