With the likes of Youtube and Blinx popularizing the personal video, it was onlytime before an online dating site implemented the personal member introductionrecording that would allow members to show themselves to browsers seekingfriendships or relationships. The new service by MyDateParty.com, which beganimplementing the personal video recordings to member profiles at the start of themonth, has seen an upsurge in visitors wishing to sign up for the service, which ledto the site crashing this week.
A spokesperson for MyDateParty.com said: "The online community is seeking more andbetter ways to communicate and it was only right that we implemented the service tosatisfy our growing membership. Through the use of our web site, members gain aninvaluable insight into the technology available when searching for a friend or afuture partner. We believe the video, as an added option will allow members tochoose who they are talking too much more carefully which creates a saferenvironment for our members. All uploaded videos will be vetted before being addedto a profile for added security. The site was visited by thousands of new membersand because we didn't expect the volume of traffic, the site temporarily crashed.This has now been modified to cope with all future sign ups."
