Mo scow (March 12, 2007)  Moscow-based OLSOFT has released a free information portalespecially for mobile phones: Global Mobile Journal (GMJ). With GMJ, users can haveeasy access to news and other information from the Web through their mobiletelephone. It uses Internet access and gets information from the company server where the teamof editors prepares news and articles especially for GMJ, said Eugene Olevsky, CEOof OLSOFT.  Essentially, it provides a free information portal on mobile phoneswithout the use of a mini-browser. However, itÂ's much faster, more convenient andmore compact than a mini-browser.Â
GMJ offers mobile phone users a number of other important advantages. It gives thema more comfortable way to navigate, letting them use all directions instead of theup-and-down motion that is typical with mini browsers. Also, GMJ compresses thetraffic flow to mobile phones, resulting in traffic that is much lower than withmini-browsers. And because the new information portal was developed as a Javasoftware application, GMJ is suitable for all types of cell phones and other mobiledevices.
GMJ supplies a variety of up-to-date information that is especially prepared to beviewed on small cell phone screens. This offers a valuable benefit to consumers, according to Olevsky. GMJ provides users with global news, dictionaries in multiplelanguages, blogs, polls, weather and other information that can enhance their lives. We strongly believe that people would have happier lives if they had easy access tothe latest jokes, toasts, horoscopes, advice, scam alerts and other importantinformation, he explained.
OLSOFT is an experienced software development company that was founded in 1992. Inaddition to creating the GMJ software for mobile phones, the company also developssoftware for the investment market and companies across various industries. Therelease of GMJ enables the company to fill a void in the marketplace; it serves as acontent provider to give users constant and convenient access to the latestinformation via the Web and their mobile device.
Originally, GMJ was created to provide free magazine/newspaper content for mobiletelephones. Now the software supplies access to a broad range of information, services and features. In the future, GMJ will include advertisingsupplements altho ugh the publication, itself, will continue to be available free ofcharge.
