SQL Farms, Inc. announcedone-click restart of SQL Server services on all network machines to assist networkand database administrators (DBAs) handle automated SQL patches and multi-serverconfiguration changes. The new features are available as part of SQL Farm Combine1.8, the latest release of SQL Farms' flagship product, which aims to assistenterprises with large SQL Server environments and data centers.
The ability to control SQL services on all network computers eliminates the need fortedious manual work. Instead of logging to individual machines and restartingservices, database managers can now easily enable automated patches and then selectthe servers that they wish to restart from a single client interface, without anyremote agents or installations. In addition, configuration changes can be pushed toall servers in one click within the same interface and the appropriate services canbe restarted to load configuration updates.
"With the recent advancement in SQL Server patches, the ability to stop or start SQLservices throughout the network allows DBAs to handle and monitor their servers muchmore effectively after patch-Tuesday and other automatic updates", said Thomas Goff,Founder and CTO at SQL Farms. SQL Farm Combine 1.8 represents a recent addition in managing the data tier ofmodern datacenters and SQL server environments.
