Ocster GmbH & Co. KG announces today that it has released Ocster Backup Pro 2: an easy to use but powerful backup solution. This new version comes with a lot of new features such as backup reports, network support and much more.
"The new features of Ocster Backup Pro 2 are a perfect addition to the features of the previous version." said Hauke Duden, CEO of Ocster. "While designing new features we always keep the usability in mind. This enabled us to develop a product that is extremely compact and easy to use, but yet a rich backup solution that supports backing up to hard disks and usb sticks as well as the online backup storage Ocster Secure Storage."
The version includes the following new features:
Backup Reports
The software provides the user with the option to generate detailed backup reports each time the backup is updated. The contents of the reports can be configured. A useful function is the email option: backup reports can be automatically sent to an email address. That way the user stays up-to-date on the state of the backups even when he or she is not at the computer.
Network Support
Ocster Backup Pro 2 provides its users with the option to backup files and folders from network locations. The backup data can also be stored on network drives if that is desired.
64 Bit Support and Windows 7 Support
The software now also runs on 64 bit versions of Windows XP, Windows Vista and even on the new Windows 7. This is especially nice since the 64 bit versions of the operating system are rapidly growing in popularity.
More Choice
Ocster Backup Pro 2 adds several new options for compression and encryption and gives the users the opportunity to choose the most suitable alternative for their situation.
The following encryption algorithms are supported: AES 256 Bit, AES 128 Bit, BlowFish, Cast-128. The software supports the following compression types: ZLib, LZMA Quick, LZMA Normal, LZMA Best.
Pre-Existing Features
Ocster Backup Pro 2 also retains all of the features that make it a favorite for its users. This includes fully automated backup, an easy to use interface, support for backups on hard disk and usb stick as well as to the secure online backup storage Ocster Secure Storage. Ocster Backup Pro 2 can also backup open files and stores the backup data very efficiently.

System Requirements
The software runs on Windows XP, Windows Vista or Windows 7 (the 64 Bit version of each operating system is also supported) and requires 512 MB RAM and ca. 125 MB free hard disk space.
The product is released as shareware. A 30 day free trial version is available.
The recommended retail price for the full version is 29.90 EUR / 29.90 USD.
