"On September 11, 2001, Islamo-Fascist terrorists slaughteredthousands of innocent Americans. Their deaths remain a somber reminder of thepalpable threat that Islam poses to Western civilization," says John Gagnon,Executive Director of SOLO (Sense of Life Objectivists).
Speaking on the eve of the 5th anniversary of Islamo-Fascism's most blatantdeclaration of war on the West, Mr. Gagnon continues:
"Islam is not a good religion hijacked by extremists. Rather, Islam, in itsunadulterated form, is an irrational, dogmatic belief system that demands submissionat gunpoint. Its followers hate freedom, reason, justice, and productiveachievement  all values symbolized by the Twin Towers, and the people who worked inthem.
"Five years on, there remains a substantial threat to freedom-loving people aroundthe globe. Increased belligerency by Islamic terrorist groups and by Iran  amilitant Islamic theocracy  reveal that our enemies are fanatically committed totheir evil cause. For five years, the world has witnessed the potency of Islam'shatred of freedom. It manifests itself in regular beheadings, bombings, thekidnapping and slaughtering of innocents, gunpoint conversions, and the forcibleoppression of women.
"Despite the clear and present danger that Islam presents, intellectuals are engagedin an orgy of willful ignorance and the leaders of the free world consent to andactively endorse diplomacy with the representatives of militant Islam. The policyof appeasement they advocate will do nothing but embolden those who want to destroyour lives, strip away our freedoms, and turn us into slaves."
Mr. Gagnon states that SOLO, as an Objectivist organization committed to Ayn Rand'sphilosophy of reason and freedom, urges President Bush to wage unrelenting waragainst Islamo-Fascism abroad, not to allow a democratically-elected version of itto take power in Iraq  and not to embrace a Christian version of it at home.
