DocShield, short for "Document Shield" is designed for Windows operating systems that can alsorun the Microsoft .NET framework. This includes Windows XP, Windows 98, Windows ME, Windows NT, andWindows 2003. "We felt that there was a real need for this type of software" said VictoriaZambrano, a PanIO Systems representative. "We found that even when organizations utilize standard 'backup software, it simply does not provide the level of granularity and control offered by DocShield". "With our everincreasing dependence on electronic documents, many businesses and organizations are at risk relying only onsystem backups". Ms Zambrano cited a specific case where an employee at a translation agencyaccidentally overwrote a document she had been working on for three days. "The agency's backup strategy hada gaping hole in it. The result was three days of lost productivity. It's an expensive price to pay". "With DocShield, this never would have happened". "In fact, the employee could have recovered any portion ofthe document as it was at any point in time since its creation". "People who work with documents don'tneed to just hope that that their organization's backup strategy will protect them".
