PhotoChances is random photographic effects generator. Itbuilds a slideshow with photos in the computer applying to them assorted spectacularphotographic effects. The images are displayed with different transitions andpanning effects.
In this new version 2.0 the program adds the  Lab mode where users can capture anyimage produced by the program, optionally fine tune the effect and save theresulting image at its native resolution. The captured files contain the  recipe used to build the effect so that effect can be easily applied to any other images,as simply as dragging the images to the programÂ's icon or window.
As the slideshow generates different effects each time and each image is shown withtwo of them displayed in a smooth transition, the program is capable of generating alarge amount of effects that can be captured and stored for later use on anyphotograph.
Novice and experienced photographers enjoy it as it provides a galore of qualityeffects from classical photographic treatment to artistic interpretations withoutany need of complicated software and it brings new ideas, renditions and useableprocessing.
Developed by Juan Trujillo, a software engineer and amateur photographer located inBarcelona, Spain, the project began as a series of software experiments projectingdigital photographs into virtual 3D spaces (surfaces on the screen simulating beingin a three dimension space). The project moved to investigating and experimentingwith transformations based on the properties and attributes of the numbers that makeup digital images.
Going on, loads of possibilities emerged and a fascinating idea started to takeshape, "random (pseudo)art" applied to photographs. Here the artist is the viewerwho discovers aspects and qualities in the results that wouldn't be perceivedotherwise. Merge this with actual photographs made by humans with intention andmeaning, with many traits both conscious and unconsciously and some surprises startto happen. One finds new interpretations of the images, aesthetical possibilities,unseen aspects, or simple pleasure or fun viewing. Particularly when the viewer isalso the author of the image.
The program is distributed as trialware through web downloads. It requires a PC withWindows XP, Vista or higher.
