Fareham, Hampshire, 21st April 2008: Cobweb, a Fareham based ITservices company, has reached a momentous milestone by signing up Rowan s Hospice asits 40,000th email mailbox user. To mark the special occasion, Cobweb has donated 400.00 to the charity to help install a Wi-Fi network in the hospice. Incelebration, Cobweb has also released five helium-filled balloons representing40,000 into the skies over Rowan s Hospice and a mystery prize awaits the luckypeople who find them!
Cobweb provides hosted email and IT services to small to medium sized businesses toenable them to concentrate on their core business without getting bogged down withthe technology. Established in 1996, the company has witnessed phenomenal successand is now one of the industry leaders. Rowan s Hospice has outsourced its websitehosting to Cobweb and has also purchased 60 email mailbox licences from the ITservices company.
As a charity we are always keen to keep costs to a minimum, so when it came tomanaging our IT, it quickly became apparent that outsourcing our email and websitehosting to Cobweb would be a simple, cost-effective and secure alternative to doingit ourselves, explained Anne Yendell, Director of Finance and Operations, Rowan sCharity. It was an added bonus that we were the 40,000th customer! The donationwill enable us to install a Wi-Fi hotspot that, for the first time, will givepatients and visitors wireless access to the internet enabling them to look upinformation, contact friends and family and share photos and videos.
