Forget checking his list; this year Santa Claus will be checking his Blog to findout the peoples' choice for the Top 10 Nicest and 10 Naughtiest Celebrities of 2005!
Ever since the North Pole got broadband access in 2004, Santa has been on a crusadeto use the power of the Internet for good - for goodnessÂ' sake. In a giant steptoward fulfilling this mission, this year he set up his very first Blog - called TheJingle Blog.
Like many famous politicos and pundits before him, Santa realized he needed an easyand effective way to stay in touch with his fan base - and to mobilize them to takeaction. In his own words, Â a Blog seemed like the best possible way for me to tapinto the hearts and minds of believers the world over - and to inspire them tospread good cheer 365 days a year.Â
Among other things, The Jingle Blog includes a 101 day Christmas Countdown and linksto some of the top Christmas sites. Starting today, it will also include a historicvoting poll that will help Santa Claus to compile the results of The 2nd Annual Top10 Celebrity Naughty & Nice Lists of 2005.
In 2004, Santa left it to the Elves to nominate and select the winners. At the topof the Nice List, they voted for Oprah Winfrey, Ellen Degeneres and Barry Manilow,among others. The 2004 Celebrity Naughty List was left blank, since the ElvescouldnÂ't bear to say that anyone was less than nice.
Immediately after the 2004 winners were announced - a storm of controversy rockedThe North Pole. Celebrities who didn't make The Nice List cried "foul" -questioning the veracity and motivation of the Elves. And while Santa flatlyrefused to entertain any suggestion of Elfish wrongdoing - he was happy to dowhatever he could to make the 2005 voting process more transparent to thecelebrities.
This year, for the first time in history, Santa's Celebrity Naughty and Nice Listwill be decided on by the people -- not the Elves. "I've set up The Jingle Blog sothat people can vote for their favorite Naughty and Nice Celebrities and share anyspecial comments they may have directly with me."
According to Entertainment Tonight,  No List since  The A ListÂ' has ever garnered asmuch attention among HollywoodÂ's elite as SantaÂ's 2 Lists. And the tension inTinsel Town is rapidly mounting as actors, directors, singers, comedians andwannabes of every variety try frantically to show Santa they rightfully belong onThe Nice (not Naughty) List before the December 24th cutoff.
