Tuesday, August 18, 2009 Virtosoftware has released commercial 1.1 Version of Virto Alerts Customizer for Microsoft SharePoint 2007 an effective solution that enhances and streamlines SharePoint Alert Management System.
Virto Alerts Customizer is new web part for creating custom alerts & notifications for SharePoint Lists. It's not longer a problem to notify your colleagues if new to-do is assigned, or new post is added to discussion board. With Virto Alerts Customizer administrator you can create alerts within a minute, and send it to a single user or group of users. Notifications can be easily delivered by e-mail or SMS, and the schedule of sending can be also adjusted.
New 1.1 Release of Virto Alerts Customizer provides users with even more powerful tools for convenient SharePoint alerting.
Now you can define the frequency of alerts by simple choosing one of the following options: send immediately, every hour, day or week. Alerts can be also sent within specified timetable, for example, only within working hours from 8 AM to 5 PM. All of them can be also combined into single ticket. In case you enable this feature, all of your alerts will be assembled into single email instead of being sent in several email messages.

Custom templates option makes it possible to create Alert message Body within seconds. The Virto Alerts Customizer Message Templates enables to use different tags in the HTML-based template body. The tags are replaced with Alert List column fields and other elements while message creating.
What you need to do is just add new tag which is specified in the column, for example,
{itemurl}: Inserts a link to the Item with URL that generated the alert;
{subject} : Inserts the contents of the E-mail Subject field. (Only used in the Message body.
