From February 1st through February 13th 2008, Sisters Sanctuary presents the Nation-Wide Celebration for the 13 Days of Self-Love. ThisCelebration is for Women and girls alike. The Self-love Movement and Holiday was created by Lacey C. Clark!, Founder and PersonalEmpowerment Coach of Sisters Sanctuary as a day for women all over the world tocelebrate, honor and embrace themselves. In our patriarchal society women aretaught they are inferior. Media teaches women and girls that their most importantvalue is sex and sexuality. Rarely is our sacredness affirmed. We are worth soooo much more. We are sacred valuablebeings. The Sisters' Sanctuary Self-Love Day is the 13th of every month, because the numberthirteen had been revered in matrifocial cultures, allegedly, because itcorresponded to the number of lunar (menstrual) cycles in a year (13 x 28 = 364days). Women s bodies were the first system of time measurement and could predictthe seasons of the year, the migration of animals and how to forecast childbirthwith accuracy of a day. The 13th day of every month should be a reminder of women ssacredness, divinity and power to positively affect the future of humanity bynurturing and valuing themselves to better mold and shape youth. This Self-Love Celebration begins February 1st and concludes on the National MonthlySelf-Love Day, February 13th. For example, Day four of the celebration is list 13greatest moments in your life and share them with female youth. Day eight ofCelebration is create a play list of 13 songs of encouragement and personalempowerment and listen to through out the remainder of the celebration. The 13 Daysof Self-love encourages women and girls to set aside special time for themselves topractice the art of self-love.
