Why Viddu and why another shopping site?
Viddu was started to solve a very specific problem, a problem that we keptencountering over and over again in different forms. It started with our babyshopping last year. My wife and I started collecting the different items that weneeded to buy and keep them ready by the time the baby was born. It was great thatwe were planning ahead but then started the trouble, the list consisted of 100items. We started researching different options for each of the major items likecribs, strollers, car seats, playards, baby monitors...First we had to find whatfeatures to look for, then we had to sort out the brands, read reviews fromamazon.com, babycenter.com, consumer reports and then we had to run around to see iflocal stores offered any good deals and also research the online stores to see whatsthe best deal out there. After months of doing this, we ended up with a spreadsheetof the major items, the options and the decision. Then it hit us, wouldn't it benice if we could have just asked our friends to see what they went through and whatthey ended up with? Wouldn't it be nice if we could share our experiences withfriends? Wouldn't it be nice if we can do this at the same place where we shop?Wouldn't it be nice to see deals in the same place where we see store offers?
