Representative, Taipei Economic & Cultural Centre in New Delhi, Andrew J Kao stated, India is being seen as potential and enlightened IT market. Thus, it is catchinglots of attention from Taiwan based IT companies, which are looking forward to anintense investment in the IT industry here.Â

K R Naik; Executive Director, Vinnie Mehta, MAIT and seniorrepresentatives from companies like Acer, ASUSTeK, BenQ, Gigabyte, Hi-Touch ImagingTechnologies and MSI.
Speaking on the occasion, Executive Director, Manufacturers Associations ofInformation Technology (MAIT), Vinnie Mehta said, Â It is a situation where bothIndian IT market and Taiwan based companies need each other and need to bringthemselves to a point of convergence which will be beneficial for both.Â
India is currently TaiwanÂ's 25th largest trading partners. Bilateral trade betweenthe two countries reaches US $ 2.5 billion for 2005 as compared to US % 1.92 billionin the year 2004. The Taipei World Trade Centre (TWTC), government agencies,associations and chambers are gearing up to assist Taiwan ICT business andmanufacturers to reinforce their competitiveness in India.
TaiwanÂ's IT manufacturers produce 75 percent of the worldÂ's computer peripherals,branding itself as the  IT manufacturer centre . Some of these giants- Acer, Asus,BenQ and BenQ and D-Link have already a strong presence in India.
In the years Taiwan has become a leading maker of notebook computers, LCD monitorsand motherboards. Taiwan also has maintained its presence in the global productionshare of wireless LAN, Optical storage devices, Game Consoles, ADSL modems, Networkproducts and servers.

The global brand value of the leading companies has risen significantly from thelast year, with Asus and Acer remaining at the top for the 3rd consecutive year.D-Link, the end to end networking solutions provider for consumers and business isthe leading networking company in the small-to-medium business (SMB) segment with a#1 market share position in worldwide connectivity. Apart from these other brands,other leading participants were Micro Star International, Hi Touch ImagingTechnologies and Giga Byte.
An exhibition of latest technology products was also organized in which all the bigvendor companies from Taiwan participated.
