TeleHealth Services, the nation's leading provider of healthcare on-demand patient and staff education and communications solutions, today announced a master agreement with Meridian Health as part of the health system's strategy to advance the hospital experience for patients and their families. Striving to enhance the patient experience, the New Jersey-based not-for-profit health system determined the need for securing a partner who could provide improved patient comfort and care while adding efficiency to clinical workflows.
Looking to enhance its facility technology services and overall patient experience, Meridian embarked on a detailed search process for a new patient education and entertainment system provider. After comparing providers, Meridian chose TeleHealth Services because they offered the only platform that had a three-tiered integrated solution for future expansion of the system, as well as robust entertainment offerings. TeleHealth Services' reputation of providing leading support and flexible financing options also played a big role in the decision.
Not only was TeleHealth's offering robust, but the system is completely integrated and will be implemented seamlessly into our current infrastructure, said Richard Ridge, RN, PhD, Director of Nursing Education for Meridian Health. TeleHealth's TIGR family of education and entertainment systems will help complete the enhanced hospital experience we are providing at our facilities for our patients. We are committed to raising both patient safety and patient satisfaction, and we believe the TeleHealth products are integral to helping us achieve our goals in these initiatives. We also see TeleHealth as the industry leader when it comes to customer services and support, making them a true partner in our endeavors.
TeleHealth will be providing Meridian with a robust service package that will include TIGR and TigrNet, an innovative, interactive patient education and entertainment system. TeleHealth's offering will also provide Meridian with access to a rich movie and television experience through a partnership with DIRECTV and TeleHealth's customized, fully assembled DSS programming. From their beds, Meridian patients will be able to view educational videos, as well as have access to live television, movies, and games. They will also have a live Internet connection at their fingertips, allowing them to keep up on emails and remain in contact with friends and family during their hospital stay. This technology is going to provide our patients with a true link to their everyday lives, added Ridge.
This partnership reflects the vision of TeleHealth and allows us to provide a rich interactive experience to the patients at Meridian facilities. Meridian is extending the role of traditional health care by applying emerging technologies in the clinical setting and our partnership provides a medium to deliver an enhanced care experience and help facilitate a fast recovery, said Dan Nathan, Vice President and General Manager of TeleHealth Services. We are looking forward to working side by side with their staff to impact the way patients and families experience their care in New Jersey.
