Meetup.com helps people find others who share their interest or cause, and formlasting, influential, local community groups that regularly meet face-to-face.Currently the group is targeting tequila lovers worldwide. Charter members of thegroup will have the option to create local chapters in their own communities. TheFlorida Chapter will create tequila events throughout the state, as well as offerfree tequila related items by mail. For example, all members signed up by December15th will receive the recipe photo guide  Gourmet Margaritas . There is no fee tojoin and no membership dues.
The club's first event was at the Melbourne International Film Festival Saturday,November 11, 2006. Featured at the event was the mysterious new Ulta-Premium tequilaVoodoo Tiki Tequila (www.voodootiki.com) as well as three Gourmet Margaritas madewith infused tequilas: Prickly Pear Cactus Tequila, Mandarin Lime Tequila and BlueRaspberry Kiwi Tequila.
Over 100 people visited the  Tequila Hut , a 10 foot structure where the tasting washosted. Members received a recipe guide, tasted all the tequilas and margaritas aswell as received a first look at the funky gourmet margaritas that will be sampledat upcoming events such as Gummi Bear Margarita, Caramel Apple Margarita, TiramisuMargarita, Mango Margarita and others.
