In VisualCron, which is designed to administrate a Windows system, one or more Jobs are added by the user. One job contains one or more  tasks which may behandling of recurring or event driven tasks, monitoring of processes, databaseupdates, command execution, backup, maintenance activities or report generation.
Each job contains one or more  triggers . A trigger may be a specific time, intervalor event in the computer system. An event may be a file change, a process that isstarted or a service that is stopped.
When a job or task is being activated by a trigger, a  Condition may control theinternal flow of tasks. The existence of a file, its content or a process areexamples of conditions that may determine which task that will be activated. Also, different tasks may be activated depending of the result of the previous task.
Each job may be connected to one or more customized messages,  Notifications . Themessage may be showed as a popup window, written to a file, sent with an email orinserted in a database.
