Virtosoftware the developer of web parts and add-ons for Microsoft SharePoint 2007 & 2010 has released new 2.0 version of Virto Ajax Calendar.
Virto Ajax Calendar surpasses the existing SharePoint calendar view's functionality by allowing users to specify the list or view, color code the displayed items by category of events such as internal or external, view day, week, month, year, and Gantt view.
The main added-value of the Virto Ajax Calendar is the opportunity to have all the events from different data sources displayed in a single calendar view. Similar to the majority of the existing calendar web parts for SharePoint, Virto Calendar allows for different data sources of the calendar events including both SharePoint lists and SQL tables. In contrast to them, Virto Calendar displays all the events from all the data sources in a single calendar view, sparing the necessity to switch between plenty of views, while all other calendars can display in one view only events from one data source. To distinguish events from different sources in Virto Calendar one can use multi-level color coding.
Virto Calendar provides extremely user friendly and simple interface that allows creating new calendar events with a single click and using drug & drop mode to change event timeframe. Virto Calendar is built on Ajax technology and is designed for Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 and Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5. Installation is simple and only requires a small amount of time. Currently, Virto supports English, German, Spanish, French, Russian and Chinese Simplified languages.
The new release of Virto Ajax Calendar for SharePoint is enhanced with advanced filtering system. Previous versions include the ability to filter items based only on SharePoint List View Settings. Now Virto Ajax Calendar is capable of creating custom terms and conditions for filtering. Filtering options allow users to display only items which satisfy the filter, and filter can be applied to every data source. This makes it possible to display only tasks created yesterday, or only tasks assigned to a specific user and etc.
