NetworkProfi today announces the release of LanAgent. This new software tool is ableto track all files or programs opened at a certain computer during work time. Inaddition to this, LanAgent is able to gather information about activities of a particular user by making screenshots, recording all keystrokes and clipboardcontent of his/her computer. The opportunities of LanAgent go well beyond this: theprogram is also able to track all Internet or local network connections and allwebsites visited. The presence of LanAgent in the PC memory is wholly latent, i.e.your employees will not beaware that you are watching their actions attentively.
LanAgent consists of two parts: the client part (agent) and the administrator part.Once you have installed the client part on an employee's computer, your employeegets into the focus of your attention. Having done this, you just need to installthe administrator part and this monitor-employee system is ready to operate. Alldata about the usage of a computer by a certain user is stored in the encrypted logfiles on his/her computer and can be send to the administrator's machine immediatelyon the first request.
The work of the client part and the administrator part are structurally independent,so when you switch your computer off, the client part still keeps on monitoring andrecording all events. You will receive this information as soon as you switch yourcomputer on next time. Generally speaking, a significant part of the program is dataexchange. Data exchangeis carried out via the TCP/IP protocol, thus the only information you need to knowis your user's IP address.
LanAgent creates an exhaustive report within seconds. All you need is just to choosea user from your list and mark those logs, which you are interested in: Keystrokes,Applications, Clipboard, Screenshots, Files and directories, Computer, Internetconnections or Websites visited. Mark some or all of these logs, set a time periodyou need to know about and you will get a detailed report on his/her actions duringworking hours.

The limitationof the unregistered version is that logs are not saved, i.e. the log database willbe cleared when you close the program. Besides, you cannot monitor more than threecomputers.
