The awards were announced at the annual IFA show, held in Berlin on August 30th,2007. A panel of experts nominated 10 programs in each product category specified bySoftwareload: Office & Finance, CD & DVD, Desktop, Hobby & Leisure, Internet,Multimedia, Security, System and Tuning. The panel consisted of reputed journalistsand editors of well known computer magazines like PC Magazin & magnus.de, PC-WELT,etc. WinRAR was up against nominated industry leaders in the System category. Thevoting went on for four weeks and the awards received an overwhelming response asmore than 600,000 unique votes were casted this year.
