Authorities believe the shooting occurred about 11:00 p.m.Sunday at the Flying J Plaza truck stop located on I-40 on Avalon Rd. inAlbuquerque, NM.
At 6:05 a.m., a deputy stopped to check on what appeared to be a disabledtractor-trailer with its flashers on along Avalon Road I-40, finding the body of47-year-old woman in the driver's seat of the truck. Rescue personnel who werecalled said the woman could not be revived. Homicide detectives arrived on the scenejust before 7 a.m. They remained on the scene investigating and gathering evidenceuntil after noon. They said the woman's death is suspicious.
The woman has been identified as Samantha Kenmore, 47, of Detroit, MI., aspokeswoman for the Medical Examiners Office said.
The marijuana found inside the woman's truck has a market value estimated to be morethan $200,000, according to police.
The police currently have no leads and encourage anyone with information regardingthis case to contact them immediately.
